As a manager, I would like to take the time to share my thoughts on the benefits of happy employees. Though there are numerous studies out there that attempt to state that companies consistently win in terms of productivity and profitability, there is one factor that has a far-reaching impact. This may not seem like much to you, but for a company that wants to remain a leader, it can help sway the outcome of an argument as to whether a company is on the right track or not.

Simply put, it’s about the bottom line.

And this is what I feel is so important. When employees are happy, they are more apt to perform well. They will be motivated to want to do their best for the company and that results in a better bottom line.

So how can you benefit from happy employees? Well, if your company offers health insurance, either for your employees or for the entire workforce, then you can promote happy employees. You’ll soon find that happy employees are far more productive than unhappy ones, thus, creating a happier, more productive workforce.

In my own company, we offer health care for each of our full-time employees. Since we offer health care coverage, it’s very important that each employee is happy with his or her work. Having employees who are well-cared for can make them more energetic, which translates into more productivity.

Once you have convinced your employees that they need to be happy, they should be encouraged to pursue personal happiness in whatever they choose to do with their lives. If they want to take care of their families, that’s great, but if they want to pursue their careers, go for it.

The point is to encourage them to create success for themselves, regardless of whether they’re at work or at home. By doing this, you help them work at the highest level of energy, because they’ve been given permission to do so.

Because the workplace has become so competitive, you have to ensure that your happy employees have a variety of job titles. For example, if an employee has been working as a cashier for several months, it’s very possible that they have no idea how to do anything else. However, they may be qualified to perform the same duties as someone who is promoted to assistant manager of customer service.

In addition, it can be extremely beneficial for them to have another employee that can perform clerical duties such as making medical issues known to the customer. This allows the happy employee to maximize his or her potential, while also helping someone with real-world experience to add an extra benefit to the company.

It all takes a bit of strategy and organization.

One strategy for happy employees is by having their workdays restricted to a certain amount of hours. That way, they can continue to be happy, but they can also avoid the pressure of over-training, getting burned out, or missing family events. If they’re feeling pressured by management to try and accomplish more, they might simply quit on you, and while they might be unhappy about it, they’ll be happier working at home for several months, working on their own and just being themselves.

Another good way to motivate happy employees is to create more of a house rule structure. Employees can expect to be provided with feedback on their performance from supervisors or management whenever they need it.

Just like any other rule that is established, it can be a simple process. By having everyone on the same page, everyone understands exactly what is expected of them, everyone knows where they stand and everyone knows where they’re going. Of course, this might result in some unhappy employees, but that’s ok, because if they aren’t happy, they are unlikely to bring about any positive change.

One thing that we have noticed with happy employees is that it leads to a sense of ownership. Employees know that they are the ones that make the difference, and that creates a certain level of accountability and excitement for everyone. From there, everyone works together towards a common goal.
